Fellow Model A Enthusiast,

As spring approaches, that can only mean one thing—Jamboree Time is close at hand. The Santa Maria A’s are the host club this year and look forward to your attendance.

Our host hotel, the Santa Maria Radisson, is a car club’s dream—easy access, minimal traffic by the hotel, abundant trailer parking and a huge parking lot for our Model A’s as well as great banquet facilities and a staff that looks forward to these events.

We have planned several tours with something for everyone and our raffle is shaping up to be nothing short of grand. As noted on the Registration Form, If you want to go on the Vandenberg SFB Tour, You must get you registration in no later than March 10th.

Some of the tours are time sensitive and some have participant limitations, so please get your applications in early as we expect things to book up quickly.

TOURS

Earlybird Tour- Mendenhall Museum- Thursday Evening

This is one of the most extensive and largest collections of Gasoline Pumps and Petrolania you will ever see! Located in Buellton, about 30 south of Santa Maria. With our visit being in the evening, everything will be lit up and it is a sight to behold. For more information—see their website https://mendenhallmuseum.com

Tour 1- Vandenberg SFB- Friday

We will have the rare opportunity to drive the backroads of Vandenberg Space Force Base, visit their museum and visit a Space Launch complex (SLC). All persons on this tour must be pre-screened, including minors, so we must receive your registration no later than March 10. No add ons or substitutions. Be sure and bring your ID. Following the tour, we will drive to Los Alamos County Park for a taco lunch catered by one of our local restaurants.

Tour 2- Missions La Purisima & Santa Inez- Friday

We will visit La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, then tour to Mission Santa Inez in Solvang, the Danish capital of the US. Here you can eat lunch on your own at one of the multitude of restaurants of your choice. After a time in Solvang, we will return to the hotel.

Tour 3- Santa Maria Valley Strawberries-Saturday

We will start the day with a drive to a local field to pick some strawberries. We will then head to Main Street Cooling, a large processor of Santa Maria Valley Strawberries. After the visit, we will view some of the valley strawberry fields while driving to the home of SM As member John Humann. There we can enjoy our purchased box lunches in a park-like setting and visit his Fords from Model As to 2020’s Shelbys and automobilia collection.

Tour 4- Music Box Collection- Saturday

Who knew a first class antique music box collection is hidden away at a private residence in Old Orcutt? Quite close to the hotel, this is a great opportunity to visit a private collection of home entertainment from an age gone by. After the tour, we will drive to the home of SM As member John Humann. There we can enjoy our purchased box lunches in a park-like setting and visit his Fords from Model As to 2020’s Shelbys and automobilia collection.

After many years of development, the new Model A Engine is finally here. Listen to this informative talk to learn all about this new engine and it benefits.

Restorers Class Evaluation

This seminar will be presented by Dave Vestal, MAFCA Past-President, Life Member and one of the originators of the Restorers Class. As we all know, a car cannot be competitive in high point judging if it is driven regularly, so the Restorers class was created. The purpose of the Restorers class is to recognize those owners and cars that are driven to meets and around home while still being basically stock. Cars are not judged against one another, but rather evaluated for originality.

Putting the Fun in Era Fashions

Think that Era Fashions are just a bunch of stuffy old clothes? Hopefully this seminar will dispel that myth and make you appreciate another aspect to the hobby.
